Mail Merge

You can use the mail merge feature in eAnnouncer to send a personalized e-mail to the members of your mailing list.  If your mailing list looked like this:

Name,E-Mail
John Doe,jdoe@hotmail.com
Mary Smith,msmith@yahoo.com

You could then put the merge fields [[Name]] or [[E-Mail]] inside your message to have eAnnouncer substitute the field value from the mailing list into this spot in the message.  For example, if your message looked like this:

Dear [[Name]],

We would like to notify you of an update to the product you have previously purchased.  We are sending this message to the address on file: [[E-Mail]].  Please let us know if this is incorrect.

then the message to John Doe would be sent as:

Dear John Doe,

We would like to notify you of an update to the product you have previously purchased.  We are sending this message to the address on file: jdoe@hotmail.com.  Please let us know if this is incorrect.

and the message to Mary Smith would be sent as:

Dear Mary Smith,

We would like to notify you of an update to the product you have previously purchased.  We are sending this message to the address on file: msmith@yahoo.com.  Please let us know if this is incorrect.

You can have any number of fields in your mailing list, and you can have any number of merge fields in your message.  Mail merge fields can also be included in the message's subject.

Mail merge fields are case sensitive.  This means the merge fields must be entered with the same upper/lower case in the message as they are specified in the mailing list.
